Colorado is a friendly place for gamblers. They started with scratch-off lotteries back in the early 80s. The early 90s saw small stakes wagering for slot machines and Black Jack. Limits were removed and Colorado is now like a miniature Las Vegas around the small mountain towns of Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek. Online sports betting launched in May of 2020. The measure approved by voters in 2019 provided for each of the state’s 33 casinos to apply for a license for both online and retail sports betting. By our count, there are 25 sportsbooks operations in Colorado as of late 2022. There are many of which we had never heard of, but the Colorado Division of Gaming knows who they are and none of them have names such as Vinnie’s Good Place to Bet.
